Yass Valley Council is seeking nominations from suitably qualified and experienced community representatives for its Advisory Committees, including:

  • Economic Development Advisory Committee – up to six community representatives
  • Aboriginal Consultative Committee – up to eight Aboriginal residents
  • Youth Council – up to ten youth representatives under the age of 25 years old and living in Yass Valley
  • Yass Soldiers Memorial Hall Advisory Committee – representatives of regular user groups and prospective user groups
  • Coppabella Wind Farm Community Enhancement Fund Advisory Committee – up to two community representatives
  • Rye Park Wind Farm Community Enhancement Fund Advisory Committee – up to two community representatives
  • Bango Wind Farm Community Enhancement Fund Advisory Committee – up to two community representatives
  • Springdale Solar Farm Community Enhancement Fund Advisory Committee – up to two community representatives.

For the community enhancement fund advisory committees, up to two community representatives who do not own any land on which the wind farm or solar farm operates, or who receives any payment from the company operating the facility may apply. Experience in administering grants would be beneficial.

Successful community representatives will serve until the next Local Government Elections in September 2023 and are on a voluntary basis.

Participation in meetings can be face-to-face or remotely via an online meeting platform (eg. Zoom or Microsoft Teams).

Nominees should complete the nomination form and demonstrate how their qualifications and experience meet the terms of reference for the committee they are applying to join.

Nominations close at 5:00 pm on Thursday, 31st March 2022 and should be lodged to the attention of the General Manager via council@yass.nsw.gov.au; mailed to PO Box 6, Yass 2582; or delivered to Customer Service, 209 Comur Street, Yass.
