Yass Rural Australians for Refugees are holding an event on 19th June during Refugee Week in Yass.

The presenters will be Mark Isaacs, author, photographer and community worker and Paul Bongiorno, journalist and political commentator.

Mark will talk about his experience living in Afghanistan working with the young members of the Kabul Peace House about which he wrote a book, “The Kabul Peace House”. He will also talk about what is happening to those people now.

Paul has written several articles on Australian asylum seeker policies and our treatment of refugees.

This follows on from a very successful event last year, focusing on community involvement in the settlement of a Vietnamese family in Yass in the 1970s.

The details of the event are as follows:

Date: 2pm-4pm, Sunday 19th June 2022 Location: Yass Community Baptist Church, 50 Laidlaw Street, Yass For more information, please email: yass4refugees@gmail.com
