A new sports storage shed and field irrigation will soon be delivered in Murrumbateman thanks to Round Five of the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund.

Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman made the announcement of funding the $300,000 project for the Murrumbateman Recreation Grounds alongside Mayor Allan McGrath, Yass Valley Council, who has responsibility for delivering the project.

“Murrumbateman is one of the fastest growing areas in the region and this project will deliver much needed work for the recreation field, particularly for AFL and storage for the sporting groups who use the recreation grounds,” Mrs Tuckerman said.

Yass Valley Council Mayor Allan McGrath welcomed the funding for each project.

“The Yass Valley and particularly the Murrumbateman community welcome this funding which will assist Council in improving the Recreation Ground infrastructure and facilities for the AFL and other sporting groups,” Mayor McGrath said.

Round Five of the Stronger Country Communities Fund is supporting local community and sporting infrastructure projects, street beautification, public programs and events that display the best of local character and community spirit.
