Sarah Lucas: when humour happens, things get good

About: Join Emma Dexter, Visual Arts Director, British Council and Australian artists Mikala Dwyer and Natalya Hughes in conversation on humour and impact of Sarah Lucas’ practice, facilitated by Peter Johnson, exhibition curator Project 1: Sarah Lucas.

Dexter oversaw Lucas’ solo exhibition I SCREAM DADDIO for the British Pavilion at the 2015 Venice Biennale. Dwyer is a leading contemporary artist who explores ritual, sexuality, magic, memory and history in her sculptural, installation and performative practice. Hughes’ practice is concerned with decorative and ornamental traditions and their associations with the feminine, the body and excess. Dwyer and Hughes are both currently featured in the exhibition Know My Name.
