ReachOuts New Online Community for Young People

Have you heard of ReachOut? ReachOut is the most accessed online mental health service for young people and their parents in Australia. The organisation provides evidence-based self-help information, a peer-support program and referral tools that aim to save lives by helping young people be well and stay well. The information offered to parents by ReachOut makes it easier for them to help their teenagers, too.

Last week Reach Out announced its redesigned Online Community for people between the ages of 14-25. The Online Community is a forum where young people are able to read what others are saying about similar situations, ask questions if they want, and connect with like-minded people to stop going it alone. It is moderated using risk-management approaches that provide users with a quality service that is safe, inclusive and strengths-based.

The new design makes it easier for users to read, navigate and interact with one another, and to tailor their feed to make it more relevant to them. The Online Community is free, anonymous and available 24/7.
