One-Month-on-from-the-5th-August-Flood

Yass Valley Council advise that since the 5th August floods its Roads Delivery Team has been busy inspecting every road across its network, recording damage, and working as quickly as possible to repair roads that were severely damaged due to the flood.

Council’s priority remains the maintenance of a safe road network; however, the persistent rain continues to make maintenance of both the sealed and unsealed road network difficult.

Staff will continue to repair potholes and minor works when weather permits.

An application for emergency funding has been submitted to Resilience NSW, however, no declaration has been made.

As soon as a decision on the declaration has been made and additional funding is made available, Council will engage contractors to expedite the repair works.

At the moment, Council is unable to provide commencement and completion dates for any repair works.

Council apologizes for the inconvenience these delays are causing, and thanks everyone for their understanding.
