NSW Wine Urges Winegrowers to Take Urgent Action

As many would be aware, the NSW Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and James Griffin MP for Manly and NSW Minister for Environment have announced plans to include wine bottles in the Container Deposit Scheme. It is estimated that this will come at an annual cost of $45 million to the NSW wine industry.

The NSW Wine President, Mark Bourne, and Executive Officer, Matthew Jessop, in partnership with Lee McLean from Australia Grape and Wine and the Director of Global Affairs from Treasury Wine Estate spent last week in NSW Parliament House meeting members of the NSW Government, cross-bench and opposition to advocate against this EPA proposal and tax on the wine industry.
