NSW-Wine-Scholarships

Last week, NSW Wine, with the support of the NSW Government, announced the commencement of the NSW Wine WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust) Scholarships annual program.

The program is aimed at front-of-house staff (restaurant and retail) that present NSW wines to the public.

In the long-term, NSW Wine is hoping that the program will help grow listings of NSW wines, boost tourism to cellar doors, and ultimately increase employment in regional NSW.

Under this new initiative, there will be 15 scholarships on offer in early 2022 at The Sydney Wine Academy at TAFE NSW Ryde and TAFE NSW Ultimo.

As part of the program, NSW Wine will also be encouraging further experience in the NSW wine industry by supplying wine and coordinating special presentations for a range of special courses and covering the costs of scholarship recipients to participate in NSW trade tastings and events.

The 15 scholarships (ten for the WSET Level 2 Awards in Wines course and five for the WSET Level 3 Awards in Wines course) are open until the 16th December to anyone working within the On and Off Premise drinks trades, who can travel to TAFE NSW during early 2022.

Applications can be submitted via the NSW Wine website: HERE.
