Meet Your Neighbour – Tom O’Dea

Tom O'Dea

Tom O’Dea often posts photos on the Yass Notice Board Facebook site. His photos are peaceful and highlight the beauty of our area. We caught up with him to find out more.

Why were you drawn to the Yass Valley?
I was looking for a life that resembled my childhood for my four-year-old son. We moved from Sydney, where we heard planes, cars and sirens. Now we go to sleep listening to frogs and crickets and wake up to birds.

What job do you do?
I am the Head of National Broadband Network’s Regional Community Affairs for NSW. I conduct my job from home and have a team of 15 across the state.

What photos do you love taking in the Yass Valley?
Nothing too deep, but something that shows the diversity of people and experiences in our region. The sunsets and sunrises are my favourite, along with the community.
