Meet Your Neighbour Scott Eulenstein

How long have you been interested in tennis?
I’ve been involved in tennis since the age of five and come from a strong family background in the sport. Our small township of Henty (between Albury and Wagga in NSW) had many strong players who created a positive environment for me and many long hot summers on court.

Are you a professional tennis coach?
I am a Junior Development Tennis Coach with Tennis Australia and will soon be stepping up and completing a Club Professional qualification in 2021.

Tell us about your passion for tennis coaching
I’ve had a long association with the game and have established “Spinifex Tennis” as a business in both Murrumbateman and Yass. I really enjoy the social networks and ability to influence families with a healthy sporting program. Tennis is a fantastic outlet for families and is truly a sport for life.

What are your goals in terms of coaching young people in tennis?
I have been fortunate to integrate into many local primary schools and instil the foundations of the game with students and educators. My goal with juniors is to be able to instil a passion and respect for the game and continue to work hard and improve each time they’re on court.

Where do you hope to be in five years?
I plan to be continuing to expand my business and inspire generations of players in the Yass Valley.
