How to Get Proof That You are Double Vaccinated

The Yass Valley Council’s “Roadmap Out of Lockdown” states that restrictions will be eased from Monday 11th October for those that have been double vaccinated.

Citizens over the age of 14 years are going to be asked to provide proof of their double vaccination status to be able to access a number of services. Services Australia explains that you can get a digital certificate or an immunisation history statement to demonstrate proof of your vaccinations.

How you obtain proof depends on your situation:

  • If you have a Medicare card: You can download your COVID-19 digital certificate through your Medicare online account in myGov, the Express Plus Medicare app, or My Health Record. If you are unable to get proof online, your vaccination provider can print your immunisation history off for you. You can also call the Australian Immunisation Register on 1800 653 809 (8am-5pm Monday - Friday) and ask for your statement to be posted to you. Given current postal delays, please note that it may take up to two weeks for your statement to arrive.
  • If you do not have a Medicare card: You will need an Individual Healthcare Identifier to get proof online. You will need to sign into MyGov to do this.

See Get proof of COVID-19 vaccination | NSW Government for more information.

For those with Smartphones, please also note that Service NSW and the Australian Government are currently working on a way to show proof of an individual’s vaccination status through the Service NSW app. Once proof of your vaccinations is available in the Service NSW app, it will integrate with the COVID Safe Check-in system, making it easier for users to prove their vaccination status when checking in to venues.
