Food Donation Network

Have you heard about the Food Donation Network? The Network aims to enable excess food from supermarkets to be donated to regional communities. By diverting food from landfills and into communities, the project reduces greenhouse gases and helps those in need. Using an empowering and locally driven approach, it engages charities and supermarkets to work together to build a sustainable long-term food donation program.

Coming up on the 15th of July, the Food Donation Network will host a forum at the Yass Vine Church which will unite community organisations with local supermarkets.

Supermarkets that are attending the forum include Yass IGA and Woolworths. The community organisations which will attend the forum include FoodCare Outlet, Anglicare, Vinnies and Can Assist.

For more information, please contact Jessica Fordyce, Regional Food Donation Officer, M: 0435 592 612 or email: jessica.fordyce@crjo.nsw.gov.au
