Connectivity-Boost

More than 1,200 homes and businesses in the Goulburn electorate can now connect to better internet through 36 recently completed YLess4U broadband towers.

Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman explained that “YLess4U has now delivered 36 wireless broadband towers to improve internet connectivity, with 12 towers located in Collector, Gundaroo, Murrumbateman, Tarago and Wallaroo, creating six local jobs.

“This program will provide faster and more reliable internet to 10 communities which previously relied on satellite internet services.”

Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW Paul Toole said YLess4U’s network of 21 new and 15 enhanced fixed wireless broadband towers was delivered as part of the NSW Government’s $50 million Connecting Country Communities Fund.

“Reliable internet means residents, families and businesses can work and study from home and stay connected with loved ones easier than ever before,” Mr Toole said.

“YLess4U’s network will soon be upgraded to provide even faster upload and download speeds of 50/10 megabits per second early next year, ensuring our regional communities can enjoy the same level of connectivity as those in the city.”

The Connecting Country Communities Fund is delivered by the NSW Telco Authority and supported by the Department of Regional NSW. For more information, visit: www.nsw.gov.au/connectingcountrycommunities
