Have you heard of an organisation called “Beyond Blue”? Beyond Blue provides information and support for anxiety, depression and suicide prevention for everyone in Australia.

One of the services provided by Beyond Blue is online forums where people can come together to talk about their mental health challenges and what has worked for them. There are forums about several mental health conditions, caring for yourself and others, and ‘people like me’ (young people, sexuality and gender identity, multicultural experiences, and grief and loss).

Following feedback from forum users, Beyond Blue has made the following improvements:

  • new and improved search functionality that helps you easily find what you’re looking for
  • you can receive notifications on discussions you follow or posts you’ve made. All you need to do is update your preferences by clicking on Profile, then Settings
  • new rules about display names. Some of the characters (like emojis, spaces and other special characters) that people have used previously in their display names are no longer supported in the new system
  • there’s also a new mobile experience for when you’d rather access the forums on your phone or tablet.

You can visit the forums HERE.
