While the last few weeks has seen spirits dive because of the upsurge in COVID-19 cases, it’s truly the case that hope floats, especially on top of a premium glass of wine.

Last week the NSW Wine Industry (NSWWI) announced that it is preparing for the 2021 NSW Wine Awards this September, saying “Whilst we are obviously cautious about what the next few weeks will hold, we are also very determined to continue to showcase the delicious wines produced across our State’s 16 great wine regions, celebrate the hard work of NSW’s winemakers and once again prove why NSW is Australia’s first state of wine!”

With this in mind, NSWWI is going ahead with the 26th Annual NSW Wine Awards.

Entry details are now being collected via their online system and wine samples need to be prepared for delivery in August.

The judging panel for 2021 is to be led by new Chief Judge Mr Nick Spencer and each panel will be chaired by a leading and experienced figure of Australian wine.

The Awards will once again be held at the International Convention Centre Sydney, as it provides a safe world-class venue for the judging, trade tastings and Awards presentations.

If you would like to be considered for one of the stewarding positions at this year's Awards then please express your interest HERE.

Current judging dates are from Tuesday 7th September to Thursday 9th September inclusive. If lockdown restrictions necessitate changes, NSWWI has options for later dates. They are urging all NSW wineries to enter, as these awards are one of the most successful opportunities to help increase public and trade brand awareness and open doors to genuine commercial opportunities.
